White Ibis
My friend in Florida has an acre of tropical gardens in her backyard and it was tempting not to go anywhere at all as so much wildlife was right there. These white ibis were everywhere and quite tame.
Great Blue Chicks
The Great Blue Heron chicks were growing fast. There were wonderful close oppportunities to see the nests.
Barred Owl Mom and baby
In the woods near where the Amish are living I was very excited to see this Barred Owl mom and her baby. A first for me!
Anhinga Display
A blue eyed breeding beauty at Venice Rookery. (male Anhinga)
Wood Ducks
My Florida friend lives on a private lake and off her back deck in the evening the Wood Ducks flew in. The Drakes were busy with courtship activities and a delight to watch.
Wood Stork
Sarasota is a birder's paradise. Wood Stork's were wading in creeks beside the highway and flying over the Celery Fields.

Mouthful
This Cormorant had a lovely Floridian breakfast at the Celery Fields, Sarasota.
Limpkin Fishing
Another regular from Myakka who allowed me great access from the River bank!
Little Blue
This Little Blue Heron was fishing in a shallow creek at Myakka River State Park. He was completely oblivious to me kneeling on the bank.
Skimming at the Beach
Royal Tern watches while black skimmer skims for fish at Lido Beach. These guys were so tame I sat down right beside them to shoot.
Painted Bunting
Extraordinary color on this guy, could have used more light.
Cardinal
i wish there had been more light in the Blind but lovely to see this guy!
